All of us have seen those people that shot up a job, a workout, a relationship, and just go through the motions. They get the job done, but they don’t leave any kind of lasting impact. They put in their hours at work, they spend the required time with their girlfriend, and they spend just enough time in the gym to say they went to the gym and did their 12 sets. But they don’t attack these things with fervor, passion, or vengeance.

Granted, it can be very difficult to approach the things in your life with this kind of focused intensity – draining to say the least. This is why most people will find the easiest possible way to complete things they need to complete. You’ll probably notice that the most successful people – in any field – are able to avoid this rut by going all out. They achieve more – they make their mark, their fortune, and their reputation. However, as a result of their passion, they are often burnt out or facing chemical challenges as a result of taking unorthodox means to obtaining the energy to go full throttle, all of the time.

There is a solution which allows you to deliver all-out intensity to growing unique muscle groups, without leaving your burned out, exhausted, and giving up in the gym altogether. You should try dedicating 3 to 8 weeks to each body part – one group at a time, beginning with the muscle group that is currently the most deficient.

If your legs are lagging in a major way, then start with them. Tell yourself that for the next month, you’re going to train them harder than ever. You’re going to stretch and flex them several times each day. You’re going to spend your free time reading leg training articles. In the gym, you are going to seek out individuals with impressive legs, and you are going to ask their advice. You’ll try new movements in the gym with new repetition and set schemes.

For the next month, everything you do will be about training your legs. You’ll attack them with a vengeance. Then, it’ll be time to place that body part back on a shelf, and focus this kind of training intensity and intellectual curiosity to the improvement of your next muscle group. It will keep your mindset as well as your muscle groups fresh, and will leave you with some real improvement and growth!

  1. Nowadays, I make it an aim to train the weakest body part first. For instance, on days that I train quads and calves, I will train calves first while my energy is still fresh. My calves are the weaker body part and need to be prioritized so that they can grow, so that is how I handle the disparity.
